Security Update from NCSY Kollel
Dear Parents, We would like to update you in as much detail as possible regarding the current security situation. 1. Like Jews around the world, our hearts and prayers are with the brave soldiers serving on the front lines of Gaza. Tonight, our head of Tech Staff was called up as a reserve soldier. This, along with the devastating news from Gaza, has served to sharpen and focus our prayers. 2. Our assessment of safety in the Golan and in Chispin remains unchanged. There have been no security events in this area of the country. 3. We have traveled and scheduled tiyulim and mini-Tiyulim for the area of the Golan, Kinneret, and Tzefat. We will continue to do so this week, barring any changes to the status quo. 4. We have not yet made any decision regarding the upcoming free weekend. 5. We are closely monitoring the recent relative quiet in the Yerushalayim/ Beit Meit area. There is no minimum or maximum limit on our stay here in Chispin. With regard to our learning schedule: 1. Since our arrival in the north, we have tried to maintain as much of the regular learning schedule as possible. This includes both the hours of learning and the subject matter. 2. As our stay has been extended, we are further stabilizing the Chispin learning. This morning we reassigned each NCSYer to a regular morning shiur for the duration of our stay in the north. Similarly, we are offering a choice of mini-sessions for night shiurim and presented those options to the NCSYers. In both cases, we are utilizing the great staff of Rabbeim who are with us here in Chispin. 3. In addition, we are committed to regularly transporting the Beit Meir morning staff, at least once a week. 4. Our chavrusa and chabura learning slots remain unchanged and strong. And a few technical notes: 1. We have arranged for 2 laundry runs in the time we have been here 2. We arranged a delivery of items from Beit Meir before Shabbos. A second deliver is schedule for the coming days. 3. We have offered loans of shekel to any NCSYer low on spending money. These loans can be paid back when we return to Beit Meir and have access to the safe and the ATM machine. Thank you for your continued patience and support. Please be in touch with any questions. Thanks, Moshe Benovitz
