Chabura Spotlight: Yitzy Tanner

Yitzy Tanner is currently enjoying his second summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Mesivta of Philadelphia and Gush and is currently a sophomore in University of Pennsylvania. This is Yitzy’s first year as a Madrich.

Yitzy’s chabura is made up of some of the best guys around: Matan Schwartz from Philadelphia (Mesivta), Simcha Kaplun from Philadelphia (Mesivta), Elisha Jooyandehnik from Hillside, NJ (JEC), and Max Buch from Hillside, NJ (Heichal).

This summer, Yitzy’s chabura will be focusing on Kelalei Hatmizvot. They will be learning about a variety of topics including mitzvot tzrichot kavana, osek bamitzvah patur min hamitzva, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to explore and get a taste of the world of advanced Talmudic learning.

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Efraim Greenberg

Efraim Greenberg is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended MTA and Sha’alvim and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Efraim’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Efraim’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Dovid Aron from Monsey (Heichal HaTorah), Judah Fisch from Hillside (JEC), Eli Fogelman from Monsey (Heichal HaTorah), Dovi Freidman from Monsey (MTA), and Binny Sichel from Baltimore (Berman Academy).

 

This summer, Efraim’s chabura will be focusing on Halacha in the Modern World. They will be learning about a variety of topics including stealing WiFi passwords, celebrating Thanksgiving, playing extreme sports, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to build ourselves to build the world.

 

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Yaakov Stein

Yaakov Stein is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Fasman Yeshiva High School, Sha’alvim and Yeshivas Birchas Mordechai and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Yaakov’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Yaakov’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Eli Knapp from Bergenfield (MTA), Chananyah Mondrow from Bergenfield (Frisch), Yehuda Pomper from Miami (Toras Chaim), Eli Spivak from West Orange (Heichal Hatorah), and Shlomo Zauderer from Bergenfield (Heichal Hatorah).

 

This summer, Yaakov’s chabura will be focusing on the different mitzvos that a father has to perform on/for his son and will transition towards the end of the summer towards the mitzvos that a son must do for his parents. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Bris Milah, Talmud Torah, and different aspects of the obligation a father has to make sure his son gets married. We will also discuss various parts of the obligation of honoring and fearing one’s parents, and much, much more. The goal of the learning for some of the topics we will focus on is asking interesting and important questions that generally are not addressed, thus increasing one’s basic knowledge. For other topics, the Chabura will focus on developing a sugyah from the Gemara and learning how it applies to us.

 

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Aryeh Margolin

Aryeh Margolin is currently enjoying his second summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended MTA and Sha’alvim and is currently in YU. This is Aryeh’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Aryeh’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Ephriam Shmidman from Philly (Mesivta of Philly), Moshe Feldman from LA (YULA), Yaakov Frager from Philly (Mesivta of Philly), Benny Cohen from Teaneck (MTA), Yisroel Dovid Rosenberg from Queens (MTA), and Noam Goldberg from LA (YULA).

 

This summer, Aryeh’s chabura will be focusing on Perek Haboneh – the 12th perek of Maseches Shabbos. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Makeh bipatesh, boneh, SUBTOPIC 3, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to gain sensitivity to the gemara nuanced details and specific lashonos..

 

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Yosef Tropp

Yosef Tropp is currently enjoying his first summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Yeshivat Frisch and Lev HaTorah and is currently in YU. This is Yosef’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Yosef’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Avi Schachter from Teaneck (Frisch), Eytan Jacoby from Teaneck (Frisch), Moshe Domnitch from Efrat (YTA), Zevi Bloom from Boca Raton (Katz Yeshiva High School), and Yosef Marcus from Boca Raton (Katz Yeshiva High School.

 

This summer, Yosef’s chabura will be focusing on Inyanei Shabbos. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Kavod and Oneg Shabbos, Kiddush, Covering Challahs, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to learn the beauty of Shabbos, engender/further excitement of learning in general.

Chabura Spotlight: Yoni Kirsch

Yoni Kirsch is currently enjoying his second summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Yeshivas Frisch and had the tremendous zechus learn in Yeshivat Hakotel for two years. Currently, Yoni is in his second year of YU, continuing to learn in the shiur of HaRav Hershel Schachter Shlit”a.

 

Yoni’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Isaac Wilamowsky from the Five Towns (DRS), Yoel Horwitz from the Five Towns (DRS), Zechariah Light from LA (Chofetz Chaim), Elazar Saks from LA (Valley Torah), and Sruli Sobel from Monsey (Heichal Hatorah).

 

The chabura is focusing on the halachos of shabbos, both the עשה’s and select לא תעשה’s. Through analyzing various halachos and lomdus of shabbos, the chabura gains a deeper understanding of the true nature and goals of Shabbos. Some topics that the chabura is learning are Kiddush, Tosefes Shabbos, Neiros Shabbos, and when to keep shabbos if you are lost on an island and don’t know what day of the week it is. The chabura analyzes the halachos to understand their nature, in order to apply the concepts to different scenarios. The summer is off to an amazing start. The guys in the chabura are excited and motivated to learn at a high level. The goal of the chabura is to strengthen our relationships with Hashem by deepening our appreciation of His Torah.

Chabura Spotlight: Binyamin Glanz

Binyamin Glanz is currently enjoying his sixth summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Ahavat Yisrael and Sha’alvim and is currently learning in Kollel. This is Binyamin’s first year as a Madrich.

Binyamin’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Jacob Becker from Teaneck (TABC), Yaakov Halstuch from Teaneck (TABC), Binyamin Rubin from Teaneck (MTA), Eli Sheer from Passaic (MTA), Ezra Cohen from Brooklyn (DRS), and Zachary Rosenberg from Woodmere (DRS).

This summer, Binyamin’s chabura will be focusing on in depth iyun on everyday topics. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Netilas yadaim, birchos hatorah, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to give over skills and love for learning while building real relationships with each other.

Chabura Spotlight: Yonah Lebowitz

Yonah Lebowitz is currently enjoying his fourth summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended DRS and Sha’alvim and is currently in YU. This is Yonah’s second year as a Madrich, and first year as a Head Madrich.

Yonah’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Shmuel Rosenthal from Manhattan (MTA), Rafi Weil from Teaneck (MTA), Avidon Garfinkel from Chicago (Skokie), Chaim Brand from Chicago (Skokie), and Yis Kaminetzky from Teaneck (TABC).

This summer, Yonah’s chabura will be focusing on the Mitzvos Asei of Shabbos. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Kiddush, Covering חלה, Lighting Candles, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to gain an appreciation for all the beautiful Mitzvos we do on Shabbos.

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Michael Fagin

Michael Fagin is currently enjoying his fourth summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended DRS and Hakotel and is currently in YU. This is Michael’s third year as a Madrich, and first year as a Head Madrich.

Michael’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Nachi Scheiner from Highland Park (TABC), Elisha Markovitz from Teaneck (TABC), Mordechai Fox from Teaneck (MTA), Yonah Josse from Manhattan (MTA), and Noam Schechter from Monsey (MTA).

This summer, Michael’s chabura will be focusing on growing in our learning skills. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Shabbos, Tzitzis, Succah and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to form a deeper connection to talmud torah.
