On Thursday July 12th NCSY Kollel ran a Mini Tiyul with Geerz, an innovative educational biking program in Ramat Bet Shemesh. NCSYer Ami Nadiv was moved to pen the following short essay:
My deep, determined breathing keeps perfect time with the unending pounding in my chest. My knees are burning with a new-found intensity, as I complete my arduous journey up the very hills traversed by my ancestors. Then, I begin my descent. The wind rings in my ears, as my heart becomes cognizant of the call of Eretz Yisrael to her people. The radiating, red sun lights my path, as I contemplate the majesty of the the rolling hills of Judea. Our 18 bikes come to a halt, as we realize the vision of our prophets, for, “the children have returned to their borders.”
