Jesse Steinmetz is a rookie madrich on The NCSY Kollel. He was privileged to be born and raised in the beautiful town of West Hempstead, NY. He is currently learning in the Shor Yoshuv Institute while studying Political Science at Queens College. He attended the Davis Renov Stahler Yeshiva High School for Boys, followed by a two year stint in Yeshiva Torat Shraga.
Jesse has the Zechus of learning with five prominent Rabbonim during the Chabura slot this summer. These gentlemen have greatly enhanced, and will continue to enhance B’ezras Hashem Yisborach, his understanding of several topics of Tzedaka and Maaser Kesafim, including, but not limited to: Why don’t we make a Beracha before giving, Scams, How much is too much and Testing Hashem with Maaser.
The Rebbeim in Jesse’s Chaburah are Rabbi Dovi Weis from Lawrence, NY, Rabbi Jacob Minkin from West Hempstead, NY, Rabbi Noah Ziv from Cincinnati, OH, Rabbi Jesse Hunt from Chicago, IL and last but not least, Rabbi Jojo Cohen from Cedarhurst, NY. With the help of these talmidei chachamim, the summer has begun with a real bang and Jesse sure hopes they can continue learning hard throughout.
The chaburah not only learns hard, but also plays hard. Although unofficial, the chaburah may very well have broken the world record in chaburah bowling, and whether the sport is basketball, trivia or hiking, the boys are always ready for a challenge. Jesse hopes that despite being past his prime, he’ll be able to keep up with the guys throughout the summer.
We all hope, with the help of HKBH, that the summer continues to get better and better!
