Akiva Erlbaum is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Mesivta High School of Greater Philadelphia and Hakotel and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Akiva’s first year as a Madrich.
Akiva’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Dovid Wogan from Memphis (Cooper), Eliezer Loeb from Chicago (Skokie), Avi Baruchov from Cedarhurst (DRS), Elie Schlossberg from Lawrence (DRS), and Dovid Bitton from Chicago (Skokie).
This summer, Akiva’s chabura will be focusing on opening our eyes and recognizing that every aspect of our lives revolves around Hashem and every question that nags at us is rooted in his Torah, as long as we are willing to take the necessary steps to search for them. They will be learning about a variety of popular Shas Sugyas ranging from: Osek B’Mitzva Patur Min Hamitzva to Mitzvos Tzrichos Kavana as well as a wide range of intriguing and relevant Halachic, Hashkafic and Mussar topics such as: Moving down seats at a sports stadium or Making a Rebbe for oneself, and much, much more. The main objective of this summer’s chabura learning and chabura interaction as a whole boils down to building up confidence and planting a seed in the head of each NCSYer which will enable them to envision their futures as leaders of Klal Yisroel and people who take their Yiddishkeit seriously, regardless of the life path that they find themselves on.
All of this has combined for what continues to be an incredible summer!
