This is Yamin Semer’s first summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended SAR High School, spent two years in Yeshivat Sha’alvim, then went to YU where he’s preparing to begin his second year.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more epic group than Yamin’s chabura. The chabura, nicknamed “F1 Bura” due to the group’s unique status as licensed drivers at the age of 16, is a stacked chevra. Naftali Warso, Yaakov Neikrug, and Ilan Brand hail from Fasman Yeshiva in Chicago while Avi Ginsparg smoothly fits into the squad despite being from Hollywood, Florida (Yeshiva Toras Chaim). Fun fact: The two members of the Chabura that are fans of the Chicago Cubs are the two that don’t live in Chicago.
This summer, Yamin’s Chabura is learning “Torah about Torah”, including Halacha, Lomdus, and Haskhafa on topics like Birchos Hatorah, Krias Hatorah, and Ksivas Sefer Torah. Because this group is so motivated and excited about growth in Avodas Hashem, Chaburas are the absolute highlight of every day. It will be amazing to see how much more can be accomplished this summer!
