Chabura Spotlight: Ami Mashiach

Ami Mashiach is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Fasman Yeshiva High School and Sha’alvim and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Ami’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Ami’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Yoel Goldstein from Bergenfield (MTA), Akiva Morris from Bergenfield (MTA), Natan Horowitz from Bergenfield (MTA), Gavri Segal from Manhattan (TABC), and Eli Faraday from Melbourne, Australia (Leibler Yavneh College).

 

This summer, Ami’s chabura will be focusing on growing in our Bein Adam Lachaveiro. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Onas Devarim, lifnei Iver, Kibud av v’em, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to learn how to treat our chaveirim with respect.

 

All of this has combined for what continues to be an incredible summer!

Chabura Spotlight: Ari Pollack

Ari Pollack is currently enjoying his first summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Valley Torah and Netiv and is currently in YU. This is Ari’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Ari’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Ari Meyer from Woodmere (MAY), Shmuel Herschberg from North Woodmere (MAY), Jonathan Posner from Manhattan (TABC), Zev Ravin from Silver Spring (Yeshiva of Greater Washington), Max Rabinowitz from Bergenfield (TABC), and Ariel Jacobs from Beit Shemesh (Ahavat Yisroel).

 

This summer, Ari’s chabura will be focusing on working on our middos — “improving ourselves from the inside out”. They will be learning about specific middos such as honor, jealousy, and love. They will focus on how to tie those topics into our lives (ex: honor in regards to social media and role models), and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to have guys start thinking about the way they act, and how to find small ways to improve ourselves as people which will ultimately help affect the way we treat others, ourselves, and serve Hashem.

 

All of this has combined for what continues to be an incredible summer!

Chabura Spotlight: Natey Simantov

Natey Simantov is currently enjoying his first summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended DRS and Netiv and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Natey’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Natey’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Shmuel Betsalel from Bergenfield (MTA), Efraim Spivak from West Orange (Heichal Hatorah), Uri Stefansky from Lawrence (DRS), and Yehuda Speyer from Hillside (JEC).

 

This summer, Natey’s chabura will be focusing on Halachos about specific Mitzvot, as well as the reasons behind the mitzvah. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Tzitzit, Tefillin, Talmud Torah, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to become more knowledgeable about Torah and Mitzvot, to develop a love and appreciation for learning and Avodas Hashem in general, and to improve our reading and learning skills.

 

All of this has combined for what continues to be an incredible summer!

Chabura Spotlight: Eli Schloss

Eli Schloss is currently enjoying his second summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended TABC and Sha’alvim and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Eli’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Eli’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Noah Goldberg from Orlando (Lyman High School), Yisra’el Yitschaq Skuratovsky from Wellesley, MA (Gann Academy), and Jackson Mushnick from Staten Island (Stuyvesant High School).

 

This summer, Eli’s chabura will be focusing on giving meaning to the daily grind of Judaism. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Why We Daven, The Importance of Tzitzis, What Tefillin Means to Us, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to gain a greater appreciation for our daily routine of a Ben Torah.

 

All of this has combined for what continues to be an incredible summer!

Chabura Spotlight: Nerya Miller

Nerya Miller is currently enjoying his first summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Ida Crown and Sha’alvim and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Nerya’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Nerya’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Avi Becker from LA (Valley Torah), Shuey Bernstein from the Five Towns (DRS), Mattis Ciment from Brooklyn (MTA), Tuli Friedman from Chicago (Fasman Yeshiva High School), and Tzvi Singer from the Five Towns (TIferes Shmuel).

 

This summer, Nerya’s chabura will be focusing on working to develop our commitment to Hashem, ourselves and those around us and understand why each of those ideas are so important. They will be learning about a variety of topics including why God created us, defining a good person, Halacha of making poppers, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to become more well-rounded individuals.

Chabura Spotlight: Yaakov Mendelsberg

Yaakov Mendelsberg is currently enjoying his first summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Fasman Yeshiva High School and Sha’alvim and is planning on attending Landers next year. This is Yaakov’s first year as a Madrich.

Yaakov’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Yoni Panitch from Cherry Hill (Mesivta of Philadelphia), Benyamin Niknam from Lower Merion (Kohelet), Yehuda Goldfischer from Modiin (Lapid), Ezra Nussbaum from Teaneck (MTA), and Rami Wachstock from Queens (MTA).

This summer, Yaakov’s chabura will be focusing on a variety of topics in bain adom lichavaro. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Lifnei Iver, Kavod Harav, judging favorably, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to have an enjoyable time learning in a non-classroom setting, and showing the guys that Torah isn’t just like a regular class.

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Sam Sicklick

Sam Sicklick is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Rambam and Sha’alvim and is currently in YU. This is Sam’s first year as a Madrich.

Sam’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Moshe Horn from Neve Daniel (שבות ישראל), Eitan Gecovich from Cleveland (Fuchs Mizrachi), Steven Brenis from Cleveland (Fuchs Mizrachi), Shai Hahn from Teaneck (Frisch), Jordy Sheinfeld from Teaneck (Frisch), and Eitan Yasharpour from Encino, CA (Valley Torah).

This summer, Sam’s chabura will be focusing on זמירות שבת. They will be learning about a variety of topics including the role of song and music in Judaism at large and on שבת in specific, identifying the מצוות of שבת and determining if there is a possibility of fulfilling them via זמירות שבת, and in-depth study of שלום עליכם, יום זה מכובד, מזמור לדוד, and מנוחה ושמחה based on the sources of the פייטנים as well as parallels and symbolism in the rhyme scheme and poetic structure, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to provide an exposure to a wide range of forms of לימוד התורה. This is actually why we are going through the זמירות, since they touch upon so many areas and perspectives of תורה which we can potentially connect to. The chabura will see applications of חקירה based לומדות, as well as חשבון, with plenty of הלכה, חסידות, מוסר and מחשבה from a variety of sources and personalities.

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Shmuel Metz

Shmuel Metz is currently enjoying his second summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Columbus Torah Academy and Hakotel and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Shmuel’s first year as a Madrich.

Shmuel’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Naftali Picard from Boston (Maimonides), Eitan Bessler from Boston (Maimonides), Tzvi Schreiber from Bergenfield (TABC), Emanuel Lubetzsky from Manhattan (TABC), and Yaacov Peltz from Columbus, OH (Columbus Torah Academy).

This summer, Shmuel’s chabura will be focusing on Machshava Sugyas. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Emunah, G-d, Shabbos, Teffilah, Teffilin, Tzitzis, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to develop a deeper understanding of why we do what we do and cultivate a reverential relationship towards Hashem’s commissions.

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Shlomo Schwartz

Shlomo Schwartz is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended DRS and Hakotel and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Shlomo’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Shlomo’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Avi Goldstein from Baltimore (TA), Gavin Kornblum from St. Louis (Missouri Torah Institute), Avrumi Portnoy from Baltimore (TA), Eli Radinsky from West Hempstead (DRS), and Matthew Rosenberg from Woodmere (DRS).

 

This summer, Shlomo’s chabura will be focusing on Halachic Sugyas in the Modern World and Future. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Halachos of Lab Grown Meat, Self Driving Cars in Halacha, a Halachic Perspective on Gun Control, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to grow in Talmud Torah while exploring the world through the lens of Halacha.

 

The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!

Chabura Spotlight: Avi Greenberg

Avi Greenberg is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended DRS and Sha’alvim and is currently entering his Junior year at YU. This is Avi’s first year as a Madrich.

 

Avi’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Nathan Ginsburg from Potomac, Maryland (Winston Churchill High School), Shlomie Assouline from Miami (Dr. Michael M Krio Senior High School), Idan Gershon Malka from Las Vegas (Advanced Technologies Academy), Eitan Tuchin from Ames, Iowa (Ames High School), Lev Wolin from St. Helens, Oregon (Summit Learning Charter), and Jonah Demsky from Thornhill (Stephen Lewis Secondary School).

 

This summer, Avi’s chabura will be focusing on Giving Meaning to the Daily Grind of Judaism. They will be learning about a variety of topics including We are Holy people, Modeh Ani, Thankfulness, Davening, Tzitzis, Tefillin, and much, much more. The goal of the learning is to add meaning to our Judaism.
