Yaakov Stein is currently enjoying his third summer on NCSY Kollel. He attended Fasman Yeshiva High School, Sha’alvim and Yeshivas Birchas Mordechai and is planning on attending YU next year. This is Yaakov’s first year as a Madrich.
Yaakov’s chabura includes some of the best guys around: Eli Knapp from Bergenfield (MTA), Chananyah Mondrow from Bergenfield (Frisch), Yehuda Pomper from Miami (Toras Chaim), Eli Spivak from West Orange (Heichal Hatorah), and Shlomo Zauderer from Bergenfield (Heichal Hatorah).
This summer, Yaakov’s chabura will be focusing on the different mitzvos that a father has to perform on/for his son and will transition towards the end of the summer towards the mitzvos that a son must do for his parents. They will be learning about a variety of topics including Bris Milah, Talmud Torah, and different aspects of the obligation a father has to make sure his son gets married. We will also discuss various parts of the obligation of honoring and fearing one’s parents, and much, much more. The goal of the learning for some of the topics we will focus on is asking interesting and important questions that generally are not addressed, thus increasing one’s basic knowledge. For other topics, the Chabura will focus on developing a sugyah from the Gemara and learning how it applies to us.
The summer has been great so far and it should only get better from here!
